when cooking chicken breasts by themselves in a skillet, is it a good idea to pour lemon juice over the chicken after they have been cooked, just before they are ready to serve?

@k1headhunter there’s a potential for bacterial growth; I wouldn’t reuse after a few hours or so.

For anyone who doesn’t want to watch this video 18 times to get the recipe:
2 Qt Water
1 TSP Dried Thyme
1/2 TBSP Cayenne
1 TBSP Garlic Powder
1 TBSP Onion Flakes
1 TBSP Cracked Black Pepper
1/2 C Coarse Salt or 1/4 C Table Salt
1/2 C Sugar

Brine for 1 hour to 1.5 hours max, wash off chicken or dry with paper towels. Cover with cooking oil/olive oil. Grill over high heat both sides 2 mins or until seared. Move to indirect heat and cook for about 20-25 minuets.

darthsheep February 1, 2011 at 9:17 am

@jaimeg123prmt try rinsing it off instead of just wiping it down.

darthsheep February 1, 2011 at 9:30 am

Thanks, that was delicious.

joeprogo February 1, 2011 at 10:34 am

I tried this last weekend and will do it again today. Very easy and with great results. Instead of just oil at the end i used italian dressing. Awsome!!

TarantulaHand February 1, 2011 at 11:02 am

Although fried chicken isn’t bbq, this brine works excellent for fried chicken! Used an outdoor deep fryer so maybe yall will like it.

jaimeg123prmt February 1, 2011 at 11:15 am

does it suppose to taste a little salty?

jaimeg123prmt February 1, 2011 at 12:06 pm

@hellocanada12 where? the CIA, FCI and Cordon Bleu all support that statement. It literally takes less than 2 seconds to google something before you attempt to correct someone. Give it a try.
