Icing On The Cake – Recipe too!

by Admin

This one shows you as best as I can in 10 minutes, how I ice a frozen cake. I also give you my best icing recipe. Better than one you get at the bakery. I have many, many others, but everyone requests this one.

Hi I really want to try making your icing. I live in the UK and none of my local supermarkets sell shortening. Is there anything else I could use instead please?

bren4299 February 24, 2011 at 7:19 am

Hey, what brand are those disposable piping bags that you use? I can’t find packs of 1000 bags anywhere, but if I had the brand name that would help.

Cheers.

Hi
I was wondering if you freeze the cake,
wouldn’t it be hard when you cut and serve? I usually use the cake mix to make my cakes, but would it be worth it to freeze it….

Yameta67 February 24, 2011 at 2:29 pm

I’m now catering in Texas and took a cake decorating class in the early 80′s and it intimmidated me so much I got scared…only started back up a month ago on cakes as client paid me in advance. you are GREAT! Give me a call at 865-740-0164 and I’ll help you through this.
I think what you heard was 10X sugar. 2# bags of 10X sugar. I always double it. 2-2# bags of 10 X sugar. 10X is confectioner’s sugar. If this sounds right, good. If not, call me any time.

Thanks Marsha. Yes, the website is up but I’m not real good at this stuff. I should probably just stick to the youtube videos, however, other people tell me to keep it up, the website I mean. Thanks for your comments and I love that you are enjoying the videos.
